  8.        Jim Hood is a commercial photographer by training and a computer 
  9.        hobbyist by preference and resides about 3 miles from Seattle, 
  10.        Washington on Mercer Island, a city of about 22,000 people in 
  11.        the middle of scenic Lake Washington. A former coordinator for 
  12.        the Mercer Island Computer Club, Jim divides his time between 
  13.        computer related hobby activities and the operation of Seattle 
  14.        Scientific Photography which produces 35mm lecture/presentation 
  15.        slides for medical and corporate training. Jim attended the 
  16.        University of Sophia in Tokyo, Japan and Seattle University in 
  17.        Seattle.

  19.        The introductory screen and menu displays of PC-LEARN are 
  20.        programmed in C++ and machine code. If you or your business 
  21.        would like to develop software tutorials similar to those used

  24.        Jim also wrote the software program the $hareware Marketing 
  25.        $ystem which provides a software marketing tutorial and mailing 
  26.        list of over 3,000 national computer clubs, shareware vendors 
  27.        and magazine editors which shareware programmers and small home-
  28.        based businesses use as a mailing list and marketing tutorial to 
  29.        distribute shareware software products. That product was 
  30.        selected as a trophy award winner by Public Brand Software in 
  31.        1991.

  33.        PC-Learn has absorbed approximately 1,400 hours of programming, 
  34.        editing and research time. PC-LEARN began as a series of short 
  35.        articles for the Mercer Island Computer Club newsletter and is 
  36.        dedicated to the members of that group.
